InVert Graphite Defines 32.2Mt Maiden Resource at Tanzania’s Morogoro Project as Drilling Resumes in September
ASX-listed InVert Graphite has announced a maiden Mineral Resource Estimate (MRE) of 32.2 million tonnes grading 8% total graphitic carbon (TGC) for the Kumba deposit at its Morogoro Graphite Project in Tanzania.
The estimate represents approximately 2.56 million tonnes of contained graphite and is entirely classified as inferred under the JORC Code.
About 97% of the resource is located within the top 75 metres from surface, while the deposit remains open at depth, providing potential for further resource growth.
InVert said the maiden resource was delivered within 14 months of its relisting on the Australian Securities Exchange and less than 12 months after the start of its initial drilling programme.
The company plans to resume drilling at Kumba in September, with the next phase focused on upgrading the resource classification and collecting samples for metallurgical testing.
The additional drilling is expected to provide a better understanding of the deposit and support future development studies.
The Kumba deposit forms part of the broader Morogoro Graphite Project, which covers approximately 386 square kilometres of exploration licences in Tanzania.
The project is located about 25 kilometres south of Morogoro and has identified several areas of graphitic mineralisation.
InVert Managing Director Andrew Lawson described the maiden resource as a strong result, highlighting the shallow nature of the deposit and its potential for further expansion.
The company is also pursuing plans to acquire RapidGraphite, a move intended to support its ambition of becoming a more integrated graphite producer.
With graphite considered a critical mineral for lithium-ion batteries, electric vehicles and energy-storage systems, the development of Tanzania’s graphite resources could position the country to benefit from growing global demand for battery materials.
