DRC Lithium Prices Fall Sharply as Carbonate Drops to US$19,786.60 per Tonne
Prices for lithium products exported from the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) declined during the September 28 to October 3, 2026 period, reversing the upward trend recorded since lithium products were added to the country’s official price listings.
Lithium carbonate recorded the largest decline in value, falling from US$23,160.86 to US$19,786.60 per tonne.
Lithium hydroxide dropped from US$22,232.94 to US$18,724.09 per tonne, while lithium sulphate declined from US$7,068.50 to US$6,358 per tonne.
Lithium concentrate also fell, from US$2,290 to US$1,935 per tonne.
The declines followed another week of falling lithium prices in the DRC, with all four products continuing to weaken in the latest official mercurial.
The price movements reflect changing conditions in international lithium markets and could affect revenues for producers and exporters as the DRC develops its lithium sector.
