Koryx Copper Targets Four Prospects in 2,500m Zambia Drilling Campaign
Koryx Copper is set to begin a maiden 2,500-metre diamond drilling programme at its Luanshya West project in Zambia, targeting up to four priority prospects as the company accelerates exploration across its Zambian portfolio.
Drilling is scheduled to begin before the end of September and is expected to be completed by mid-December.
The programme will test targets identified through surface geochemistry, induced polarisation (IP) chargeability and resistivity surveys, as well as structural interpretation.
The inclined drill holes will target mineralisation at vertical depths of between 100 and 250 metres.
At the Mpongwe project, Koryx is undertaking follow-up and infill soil sampling at the Lwabufubu, MP1 and MP2 targets, alongside regional sampling in western areas of the licence that were not covered during the 2025 programme. About 3,000 samples are expected to be collected by early November.
The sampling results, together with the timing of the rainy season, will determine whether shallow follow-up drilling at Mpongwe takes place later in 2026 or is deferred to 2027.
The exploration programme follows detailed magnetic surveying, soil sampling and pitting at Luanshya West, which helped Koryx identify and prioritise four targets for drilling.
At Mpongwe, a reassessment of previous exploration data and regional sampling has identified additional targets for further investigation.
Koryx is also increasing its ownership in Koryx Copper Zambia from 51% to 80% under an amended agreement with World Class Mineral Ventures. The subsidiary holds 100% of the Luanshya West and Mpongwe exploration licences.
The company said the increased ownership would provide greater flexibility in evaluating strategic options for the Zambian assets while maintaining its operational and financial focus on the Haib copper project in Namibia.
Luanshya West and Mpongwe form part of Koryx’s Zambian exploration portfolio, with the latest drilling and geochemical programmes aimed at defining targets for potential future resource development.
