Kodal Minerals Launches First Spodumene Concentrate Exports from Mali’s Bougouni Lithium Project
West African-focused mineral exploration and development company Kodal Minerals has officially commenced exports of lithium spodumene concentrate from its flagship Bougouni Lithium Project in Mali.
The first truckloads of concentrate are currently undergoing final customs clearance before departing for the Port of San Pedro in Côte d’Ivoire, marking a major milestone in the project’s transition from development to production.
Kodal Minerals plans to transport approximately 30,000 tonnes of spodumene concentrate from its existing stockpile to the port for export to Hainan, China. The initial shipment is expected to be completed within four to six weeks.
The start of exports represents a key achievement for Kodal Minerals and reinforces Mali’s growing role as an emerging lithium producer in West Africa—supplying a critical mineral essential to the global electric vehicle (EV) and battery industries.
