Battery metals miner Marula Mining has successfully completed its first manganese export sales through an agreement with Kenyan company Gems and Industrial Minerals.
This partnership involves Marula transporting manganese ore from its Larisoro mine in Kenya to the Port of Mombasa. From there, the ore is shipped to customers in China under offtake agreements.
The initial shipment amounted to 476 tons of manganese ore with a grade of 37%. Marula will receive 60% of the proceeds from this sale.
Monthly ore sales are expected to continue, with volumes set to increase in the fourth quarter as the company ramps up a $1.5 million investment in new mining, crushing, screening, and processing equipment at the Larisoro mine.
