Cazaly Resources has announced the commencement of a 1,200-meter reverse circulation drilling program at the Ohevanga lithium prospect, part of the Kaoko lithium project in northern Namibia.
The program aims to explore subsurface lithium mineralization within a significant lithium geochemical anomaly.
The Ohevanga lithium target, covering an area of 120 km², was first identified through surface sampling conducted at broad 1-kilometer intervals.
Subsequent infill sampling confirmed continuous anomalous lithium mineralization, measuring over 110 ppm, which is now believed to be stratiform in nature.
The consistency of elevated lithium concentrations between the original surface samples suggests the potential for significant lithium deposits across the entire 12-kilometer strike length of the anomaly.
The Kaoko project is located approximately 800 kilometers from Namibia’s capital, Windhoek, and 750 kilometers from the port of Walvis Bay.
The region boasts excellent infrastructure, with the project situated just 50 kilometers from the regional capital of Opuwo.
The area is serviced by an airport, bitumen roads, and is in close proximity to the 320 MW Ruacana hydroelectric power station, with transmission lines running through both the western and eastern parts of the project.
