Atlantic Lithium, a leading player in lithium exploration and development, has recently announced a significant enhancement to its 2023 drilling program at the Ewoyaa lithium project in Ghana.
The company has added 8,000 meters of drilling aimed at boosting resource growth, showcasing its commitment to maximizing the potential of the project.
This expansion represents a 43% increase in the ongoing drilling program, aligning with the recent grant of the mining lease for the Ewoyaa project.
The initial 18,500-meter program has now grown to a total of 26,500 meters, with completion targeted for the second quarter of 2024. The company has already reported results for 16,164 meters, including the latest findings.
The comprehensive drilling program encompasses resource and metallurgical reverse circulation, as well as diamond core drilling.
Recent assay results for 2,362 meters of drilling at Ewoyaa are part of the broader 2023 planned program.
Of particular note are the high-grade infill and extensional drill intersections at the Ewoyaa Main, Anokyi, and Ewoyaa South-2 deposits.
These intersections serve a dual purpose by providing metallurgical drill core and contributing to both resource infilling and mineralization extension.
The reported assay results have successfully extended mineralization at the Ewoyaa Main deposit, surpassing the boundaries of the existing 35.3-million-tonne resource estimate of 1.25% lithium oxide in hole GDD0093.
Highlighted in the results are shallow, high-grade infill drill intersections at Ewoyaa Main, Anokyi, and Ewoyaa South-2.
These downhole intercepts, including estimated true widths in the intersections table, reveal promising outcomes, especially at a 0.4% lithium oxide cut-off.
Atlantic Lithium’s strategic moves in expanding its drilling program and presenting positive assay results underscore its dedication to advancing the Ewoyaa lithium project and unlocking its full potential in the evolving landscape of lithium exploration and development.
