Zeb Nickel has obtained integrated environmental authorization for its project in South Africa’s Bushveld Complex, a critical step in advancing towards securing a mining right.
The approval from the South African Department of Mineral Resources and Energy (DMRE) enables Zeb Nickel to proceed with the activities outlined in the approved Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA).
The company plans to mine minerals at the site for 30 years from the date of issuance. As part of its strategy, Zeb Nickel intends to enhance the nickel grade and overall project economics by conducting additional drilling in Zone 1 and Zone 2, where higher nickel grades, along with copper and platinum-group mineralisation, have been identified.
Zeb Nickel’s CEO and Director, Anthony James Nieuwenhuys, emphasized the company’s commitment to responsible development, stating: “We have engaged in extensive consultations with local communities, stakeholders, and environmental experts throughout the application process.
We are grateful for the support and cooperation of the DMRE, local communities, and environmental organisations that have contributed to securing this authorisation.
We look forward to continuing our work in the project area and ensuring that the Zeb Nickel project is developed in an environmentally responsible manner.”
