Walkabout Resources, listed on the Australian Stock Exchange, has reported a sharp rise in sales orders for September, with larger shipments of premium graphite concentrate heading to new clients in China and India.
These new orders, totaling 800 tonnes of coarse flake graphite from the Lindi Jumbo mine in Tanzania, represent a significant milestone in the mine’s growing reputation.
“Launching regular, large-scale sales is a crucial achievement, solidifying Lindi Jumbo as a reliable supplier of high-quality graphite concentrate to end customers,” said Managing Director and CEO Andrew Cunningham.
Lindi Jumbo has ramped up production, having generated over 3,200 tonnes of graphite concentrate since operations began in June.
Current production is averaging 50 tonnes per day of dry graphite concentrate, despite a planned five-day shutdown for maintenance and ramp-up adjustments.
Initial sales to Europe and Asia consisted of pilot orders ranging from 20 to 80 tonnes, allowing customers to confirm that the product met previously tested sample standards.
Follow-up orders for both coarse and fine flake graphite are expected in the coming months based on these pilot sales.
“Lindi Jumbo is fully exposed to market prices for its graphite products and is well-positioned to benefit from the expected cyclical price increases in the years ahead,” Cunningham added.
