TotalEnergies Marketing Angola unveiled the country’s inaugural electric motorbike refueling station in Luanda yesterday, in collaboration with Bob-eco, a Hong Kong-based company that imported 100 electric motorcycles to Angola last year.
Claire Dutertre, the General Director of TotalEnergies Marketing Angola, outlined the company’s objective to establish three electric motorbike refueling stations annually.
She emphasized that this initiative aligns with sustainable development goals and job creation efforts.
During the inauguration, Jornal de Angola discovered that battery exchanges at the station are available from 7 am to 7 pm, with a two-hour charging time providing motorcyclists with a range of up to 80 kilometers.
According to António Quilanda, Bob-eco’s Commercial Director, TotalEnergies has yet to finalize pricing for the refueling services but assures that it will be affordable.
Bob-eco aims to cater to young individuals and large corporations, promoting mobility alternatives and entrepreneurship.
Quilanda explained that Bob-eco offers electric motorcycles to interested young people at no upfront cost. Beneficiaries can select services and operational areas, committing to a monthly payment over a 36-month period. At the end of the contract, ownership of the motorcycles transfers entirely to the riders.
Maintenance services will be provided by Bob-eco mechanics at the company’s facilities, with the primary goal of empowering young people economically.
Quilanda emphasized the company’s commitment to supporting youth employment through this initiative.
