Premier African Minerals, listed on AIM, has successfully finalized the installation of the RHA ball mill at its Zulu lithium and tantalum project in Zimbabwe.
This significant milestone encompasses the incorporation of all essential components, including feeds, discharge systems, pumps, control circuitry, and grinding media.
These components are anticipated to facilitate the planned production of up to 1,000 tons per month of spodumene, commencing in November at the project, as confirmed by CEO George Roach.
The commissioning phase commenced on Thursday 22nd, with the first material expected to pass through the mill on Monday.
Open-pit mining operations at the Zulu site are set to resume next week. While a substantial amount of material already exists on the run-of-mine pad, it remains crucial to ensure that the plant has an adequate supply of ore for its ongoing processing requirements, as emphasized by Roach.
The temporary suspension of operations at Zulu was necessitated to facilitate the installation and commissioning of the mill, a decision reported by the company back in August.
It’s worth noting that the planned relocation of the RHA mill to the Zulu site was an interim measure to address this situation.
Further updates on Premier’s progress will be included in the unaudited interim results for the six months ending on June 30, set to be published on September 29.
