AIM-listed Premier African Minerals has appointed seasoned mining executive Graham Hill as Managing Director, effective July 16, as part of a broader strategy to strengthen its technical leadership and advance the Zulu lithium and tantalum project in Zimbabwe toward sustainable production.
Hill brings over 40 years of mine development and operational experience across Africa, Southern Europe, and Central Asia.
His appointment aims to address ongoing challenges at the Zulu project and to deliver long-term operational stability.
Premier noted that Hill may later be invited to join the board as Chief Executive Officer, following the resignation of former CEO George Roach in May.
Any such appointment would be subject to regulatory approvals under AIM rules and the successful completion of Hill’s probationary period.
“I am pleased and relieved that Graham has accepted this role. I expect his contribution to resolving the issues at Zulu will be both significant and transformative.
Graham’s extensive and directly relevant experience, along with his hands-on approach, is exactly what we need,” said Chairperson Godfrey Manhambara.
Hill most recently served as Chief Operating Officer of Adriatic Metals, where he led the feasibility study and development of the Vares project in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
His earlier roles include key development positions at Silver Bear in Russia, Oxus Gold, and Axmin, where he progressed the Passendro gold project in the Central African Republic. He began his career with Anglo American.
Premier emphasized that Hill’s appointment is a critical step toward resolving operational and plant-related issues at Zulu, with continued efforts underway to bring the project into full-scale production.
