ASX-listed Greenwing Resources has successfully completed 464 auger holes, totaling 4,027 meters, at its 100%-owned Andapa graphite project in Madagascar.
The exploration program has identified regolith-hosted (weathered) saprolite graphite mineralisation, paving the way for a follow-up conventional drilling program.
The Andapa project, located 60 km from Madagascar’s only deep-water port in Tamatave, sits on a granted mining lease, enhancing its development potential.
Initial exploration has confirmed continuous graphite mineralisation across two graphitic units, extending over strike distances of 1.2 km and 2.2 km, with mineralisation directly adjacent to the operating Antsirabe graphite mine.
“These results demonstrate consistent graphite mineralisation at shallow depths across two units. With an existing mining lease, close proximity to Graphmada, and a relatively short haul to port, we are confident in the project’s potential,” said Executive Director Peter Wright.
“Our augering program has provided a first-pass assessment across the entire permit, targeting previously identified graphite-rich zones in units one, two, and three.
We look forward to updating the market on our broader portfolio of assets in Madagascar and the progress of the country’s new Mining Code in the coming weeks,” he added.
With these promising results, Greenwing Resources is well-positioned to advance Andapa as a key graphite asset in Madagascar’s growing mining sector.
