Flying Nickel, headquartered in Vancouver, has revealed an inaugural measured and indicated mineral resource totaling 405,020 ounces at its Minago nickel and platinum group metals (PGMs) project in Manitoba’s Thompson nickel belt.
Prepared by Mercator Geological Services, the mineral resource estimate (MRE) encompasses 125,700 ounces of platinum, 279,330 ounces of palladium, and 689.53 million pounds of nickel, marking a substantial increase in the in-pit resource to 531.31 million pounds of nickel, up by 41.95% from the previous MRE published in July 2021. This notable update reflects the results of the 2022 drill program.
CEO John Lee expressed enthusiasm about the update, highlighting the project’s growing significance in both nickel and PGMs. The company plans to further explore these factors as part of Minago’s ongoing feasibility study.
