This will require a long-term commitment to sustainable development, as well as greater transparency and accountability in the cobalt supply chain.
Cobalt mining is a critical part of the DRC’s economy, but the industry must address the numerous human rights and environmental challenges it faces. With concerted efforts by all stakeholders, it is possible to create a sustainable and responsible cobalt mining industry that benefits both the country and the global community.
