Cazaly Resources, based in Perth, aims to initiate a drilling program at its Kaoko Lithium Project in Namibia, either late in the first quarter or early in the second quarter of 2024.
The project is part of the broader Kaoko Critical Minerals Project, which also encompasses the Abenab North Rare Earth Elements and Base Metals Project.
Under the exploration permit EPL6667, initially granted in February 2018 and renewed until February 2023, Cazaly holds a 95% interest in the Kaoko Project.
Situated just 50km from Opuwo town, the Kaoko Project spans approximately 100km in length and covers an extensive area of 1410 km².
The company plans to conduct a drilling campaign to investigate a 12km-long lithium soil anomaly using reverse circulation.
This endeavor, pending approvals for vegetation clearing and drilling permits, aims to complete around 3,000 meters of drilling.
The initial phase of drilling will focus on testing the regolith and fresh rock beneath the highest lithium in soil results on a 200m x 100m grid.
Tara French, Managing Director of Cazaly, stated that the drill program’s objective is to examine the lithium anomaly in fresh rock.
The goal is to gain a comprehensive understanding of lithium distribution within the stratigraphic units at Ohevenga and to unravel the nature of this potentially unique sediment-hosted lithium anomaly.
The drilling program is anticipated to provide valuable insights that contribute to advancing the Kaoko Lithium Project.
