Cazaly Resources has postponed its drilling plans at the Kaoko Lithium Project pending the renewal of its Environmental Clearance Certificate (ECC).
The Kaoko Lithium Project, located in Namibia’s Kunene region, comprises EPL 6667. Initially granted in February 2018, this license has been renewed until February 2025, covering a vast project area of approximately 100 kilometers in length and 1,410 square kilometers in total.
The project is adjacent to Celsius Resources Limited’s Opuwo cobalt project, known for significant cobalt-copper mineralization in the Dolomite Ore Formation.
During the December 2023 quarter, the Ministry of Mines renewed the Kaoko Lithium Project’s two-year exploration license.
Cazaly Resources has since identified a substantial lithium-in-soil anomaly at the Ohevanga Prospect, spanning 12 kilometers by 10 kilometers.
This anomaly was defined through broadly spaced surface sampling on a 1-kilometer grid, followed by infill surface sampling to confirm and detail the target.
The company had initially scheduled drilling to test the large lithium anomaly at Ohevanga for late in the first or early in the second quarter of 2024.
However, in its quarterly activities report, Cazaly Resources stated that drilling would now be rescheduled, requiring all necessary approvals to be in place.
To advance towards drilling the large lithium target at Ohevanga, Cazaly Resources has completed and submitted the necessary environmental surveys.
The company also submitted the Environmental Compliance Monitoring and Audit Report along with the updated Environmental Management Plan in mid-December 2023 to renew the Environmental Clearance Certificate.
Cazaly Resources remains committed to progressing its exploration activities at the Kaoko Lithium Project once the environmental clearance is secured.
