In the first half of 2024, the BMW Group reported delivering 190,622 fully electric vehicles (BEVs), marking a significant 24.6% increase compared to the previous year.
Overall, the BMW Group sold 1,213,359 units during this period, a slight decrease of 0.1% year-on-year. BEVs accounted for 15.7% of total sales, highlighting their growing importance in BMW’s portfolio.
Within the BMW brand, 179,557 BEVs were sold, reflecting a robust 34.1% increase in BEV sales year-on-year. BEVs now constitute 16.4% of BMW brand sales.
The popularity of upper premium segment models contributed to this growth, alongside strong performances from models like the BMW 7 Series, which saw a 22% sales increase compared to the previous year. The BMW X1 and BMW 3 Series also showed significant sales growth.
BMW M GmbH achieved a sales growth of 5.1%, selling a total of 99,517 vehicles. Meanwhile, MINI delivered 114,054 vehicles in the first half-year, including models from the New MINI Family.
Rolls-Royce highlighted the successful launch of the Rolls-Royce Cullinan Series II, the brand’s most sought-after model. Rolls-Royce delivered 2,819 motor cars worldwide in the first half-year.
In the motorcycle segment, BMW Motorrad handed over 113,072 motorcycles and scooters to customers globally during the same period.
The BMW Group’s strategic focus on expanding its BEV lineup and strengthening its premium segment offerings has proven successful amidst a competitive market landscape.
