Atlantic Lithium, a lithium exploration company focusing on Africa, has secured Bewadze and Senya Beraku prospecting licenses in Ghana.
These licenses, located in the eastern part of Atlantic’s Cape Coast lithium portfolio, present an opportunity to further enhance the Ewoyaa project.
The mining lease for the flagship Ewoyaa project was granted in October, and the newly acquired licenses offer exclusive access to explore untapped areas.
Atlantic’s chairman, Neil Herbert, highlights Bewadze’s prospectivity for lithium discovery, noting its proximity to the Egyasimanku Hill occurrence.
The Senya Beraku license, previously unexplored, also holds potential as it aligns with the orientation of the Egyasimanku Hill spodumene pegmatite occurrence.
Infrastructure advantages, such as existing high-voltage transmission lines and the nearby N1 highway, provide direct access to the Ewoyaa project from both Bewadze and Senya Beraku.
Herbert expresses optimism about incorporating the new licenses into the Ewoyaa project, pending successful exploration.
He sees the license grants as a testament to the Ghanaian government’s support for the Ewoyaa project, positioning Atlantic Lithium as a key partner for long-term lithium production in the region.
With additional licenses under application, the company aims to further expand the Ewoyaa project’s resource in the near future.
The Ewoyaa project, developed in collaboration with Piedmont Lithium, is set to produce 3.6 million tonnes of spodumene concentrate over a 12-year mine life.
This places it among the world’s top ten spodumene concentrate mines, as indicated by a definitive feasibility study.
