On July 12, Atlantic Lithium confirmed the submission of the mining lease application for its Ewoyaa lithium project to the Ghanaian Parliament. The parliamentary process to ratify the mining lease is now underway.
Additionally, the Ghanaian Minerals Commission and the Chief Inspector of Mines have authorized the company to resume operations at Ewoyaa.
This decision follows a fatal incident on July 9, resulting in the death of an employee and a subsequent investigation by authorities.
Atlantic Lithium stated it is taking a cautious approach to resuming operations, ensuring alignment with the recommendations made by the Minerals Commission.
“Our thoughts remain with the family and friends of our teammate, and we continue to offer our full support to all those affected,” the company added.
