Critical Metals, a mining investment company focused on critical and strategic metals, has announced the commencement of groundworks for the rehabilitation of a 28-kilometer (17-mile) public road leading to its flagship Molulu Project, a former copper-cobalt mine in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC).
As part of its Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) commitments, Critical Metals has appointed DRC GREEN, a local contractor, to update the Environmental Impact Study (EIS) and Environmental Management Plan (EMP) for the Molulu Project.
DRC GREEN has already arrived at the project site and begun gathering new data to update these crucial reports.
The planned road upgrades will support increased traffic and mitigate the effects of the rainy season as the company prepares to restart production at Molulu and resume sales of stockpiled copper ore.
This infrastructure improvement will also benefit the surrounding community, aligning with the company’s ESG commitments.
The road contractor has indicated that the rehabilitation works may take between 60 and 90 days. Photos and videos documenting the progress will be shared on the company’s social media channels in due course.
